Description
A fleeting moment bumping into this darling little inquisitive American mink as it froze and we locked eyes momentarily as it was coming down and I was going up a Vancouver Island boat ramp. These clever mustelids increasingly find a haven in human spaces like boat marinas. The abundance of rock walls, artificial shelters, and discarded fish scraps creates a thriving, accidental ecosystem where the wild seamlessly interfaces with the modern world.
